Richland School District

Parents should always have a role in their children’s education – make your voice heard!
There is a School Board election for the Richland School District on November 7, 2023. Beginning October 20, voters can deposit their ballot in an official drop box. Voters residing in the Richland School District will have an opportunity to vote for one candidate for each of the three School Board positions:

For Position 3, voters will choose between Nino Kapitula and Chelsie Beck.

For Position 4, voters will choose between Kari Williams and Katrina Waters.

For Position 5, voters will choose between Gene Nemeth and Jill Oldson.

POSITION 3

Kapitula’s priorities include a focus on academics and increased parental engagement. 

 

She believes cultural and social topics should be left to families so educators can focus on core academics.

Williams is an advocate for parental rights and believes school instruction must focus on mastering basic academics.

 

She believes families should be making medical decisions for their children.

He wants to improve transparency and partnerships with parents. 

 

He says sub-standard student outcomes are not acceptable and accountability is needed for not recovering lost learning.
